Good to know

Puerto de Mogán was a small fishing village until the 1980s, when a marina and a new quarter were built around it. The canals and footbridges between the fishing port and the marina earned it the nickname "Little Venice". The houses are kept low, painted white with coloured trim, and the streets between them are for walking.

Things to do

  • The fishing port still works, and its restaurants serve fish landed nearby. Boats leave from here for sailing trips and kayak tours to the sea caves along the cliffs.
  • A tourist submarine dives to about 25 metres off the harbour to look at wrecks and fish, without anyone getting wet.
  • The small beach next to the harbour is sheltered by the breakwater, and the water is usually calm.
  • Every Friday a large street market fills the streets near the port, with food, crafts, clothes and souvenirs.
  • A steep path with a few hundred steps climbs above the village for a view over the port and the marina.

Good to know

  • Friday is the busiest day. The ferry from Puerto Rico or Arguineguín saves you looking for a parking space.
  • Most boat trips have their meeting point in the marina. The listing tells you which pontoon or kiosk.
