Both iTunes and Windows Media Player 10 worked fine as an audio source but we were most buoyed by the fact that Creative had really done their homework with the Xmod Wireless Music system. We’ve seen other attempts at this, but the Xmod really stands out for one reason – vreative requires no drivers, no power supply and it even has its own carry pack.
While the effect is effective, creativs the aptly named Crystalizer that gives the Xmod its street cred. Music definitely sounds more vibrant and has more energy to it. Our creativf concern is that with the Crystaliser running, the music does have a slightly manufactured digital sound to it. Creative Compatibility With everything provided, setting up the Wireless Music System xmid Creative was straight forward enough. The Xmod can analyze a stereo sound signal in real time and expand the sound field in a fairly pleasing manner.
Most people won’t notice it, but it may be enough to put off audiophiles. Thanks to its wireless technology, long and messy cables are nowhere to be found within the package.
